Take Back the Power

Islanders deserve clean, affordable energy — and a democratic say in how it’s delivered.

About Us

Energy Democracy Now! Co-operative Limited (EDN) is a community-based advocacy organization working to put Islanders in charge of their energy future. Founded and incorporated in 2023, EDN believe the climate crisis demands more than small fixes — it requires a bold shift from corporate control of fossil fuels to renewable energy that is owned, governed, and guided by local communities.

We’re building a future where decisions about energy on PEI are made transparently, with health, fairness, and community well-being at the centre.

Our Vision

A resilient Prince Edward Island powered by renewable energy that is locally generated, fairly priced, and democratically governed — where no one is left behind.

Why We Exist

Energy democracy means putting power back in the hands of communities

Community Control

Islanders should have a real voice in shaping energy policies.

Affordable Energy

Everyone deserves fair access to sufficient, reliable energy.

Climate Action

The climate crisis demands a rapid move away from fossil fuels.

Healthy Communities

Clean, renewable energy supports people and the planet.

Get Involved

Energy democracy starts with you.

We believe in the power of renewable energy to transform communities. Together with individuals and organizations across PEI, we will work to scale up community ownership and governance of energy through co-operatives. As a member, you will be a part of the movement for a better tomorrow and create a sustainable and equitable future.

Join us in shaping the Island’s clean energy future.
