Energy Democracy Now! Co-operative Limited is a PEI community-based advocacy organization founded in January, 2023 – and incorporated in May 2024 ‒ on the principle that the climate crisis demands a shift from a corporate, centralized, fossil-fuel economy to a society and economy that are governed by local community priorities. Among the Co-op’s governing principles is that residents of PEI should have greater democratic control and participation in energy policies and decisions, and that every person should have access to sufficient affordable energy.
