Public hearings for IRAC's decision on Maritime Electric's proposed diesel power plant on the Charlottetown waterfront are scheduled to begin on August 25.

The Commission is accepting written comments from the public now until 4 p.m. on August 10. Have your say and send a comment to the commission. Use and share EDN's comment guide to help strengthen your message.

Energy Democracy Now! will participate as a Friend of the Commission intervener, making the case for responsible long-term planning, taking PEI's climate commitments seriously, and making decisions that put residents above returns.

IRAC hearings are open to the public and take place at the IRAC office on the 5th floor of the National Bank Tower at 134 Kent Street.

Join us for a virtual town hall meeting on August 11 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Atlantic time, where we'll be joined by experts in the energy field to discuss the upcoming decision IRAC will make and how it will affect PEI's energy future.
